Deliver Us from Evil Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to them that love Him (James 1:12). Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith (Resist the devil and he will flee from you – James 4:7)…Knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world (I Peter 5:8,9) There is no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it (I Corinthians 10:13). Love bears all things (I Corinthians 13:7). But the God of all grace, who has called us unto His eternal glory by Jesus Christ, after you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you (I Peter 5:10). Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted of God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither does He tempt any man: but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed. Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren (James 1:13-16). Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41). Pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17). Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18). Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26). Seek out of the Book of the Lord and read: no one of these shall fail (Isaiah 34:16). Your Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11). Cleave unto the Lord your God...Love the Lord your God ( Joshua 23:8,11). Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). For we have not a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to help them that are tempted (Hebrews 2:18). He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increases strength (Isaiah 40:29). Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace, that we may attain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).“My grace is sufficient for you: My strength is made perfect in weakness”(II Corinthians 12:9). Wherefore Jesus is able also to save them to the utter-most that come to God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them (Hebrews 7:2)5. “For I the Lord thy God will hold your right hand, saying to you, fear not; I will help you” (Isaiah 41:13).For God so loved theworld, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Himshould not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evilwork, and will preserve me unto His heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory forever and ever (II Timothy 4:17,18). Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. – 1 John 4:4 |
