By faith we confess that we are strangers and pilgrims on the earth, desirig a better country. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come because our God has prepared for us a city. For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven. For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. So we set our affection on things above, not on things on earth; loving not the world, neither the things that are in the world - for where our treasure is, there will our hearts be also. Our citizenship is in heaven;from where also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ; who shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - Adapted from Hebrews 11:13-16; II Cor. 5:1,2; 4:18, Colossians 3:2, I John 2:15, Matthew 6:21, Philippians 3:20, I Thessalonians 4:16,17, John 3:16
