Go and Make Disciples
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..” Matthew 28:19 nkjv
After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, He commanded His disciples to go and make disciples of all the nations. A disciple is someone who accepts and ardently follows the teachings of his master and helps to spread what he has learned with others. Jesus gave very specific instructions on how to effectively make a disciple – “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:20.
In other words, the best way to make a disciple is to teach them the things that Jesus said. This is the pattern that the Lord has given us to make disciples of all nations. Are we soaking ourselves in the words of Jesus? Are we following His example in our daily lives and is the testimony of our actions inline with the words of our Master? Are those of us who are professed believers actually operating as true disciples by living and sharing His words with those we come in contact with every day? I’m sure many of us are and all of us need to do more to make His light shine the brighter in the darkness of these latter days.
Go and make a disciple, for it is the calling that God has placed on all who claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
