Eat, Abide and Follow
O ne day when I was listening, Jesus said,
“Eat My flesh and drink My blood." (John 6:53)
So I ate His word and drank of His Spirit –
And He came into me.
Then He said –
"Abide in Me "(John 15:4).
There I remained and He wrapped His vine within me.
The fruit of our union would grow,
Sometimes so slowly,
First the seed, then the sprout
Until the moment when I would find myself
In full bloom –
Embraced by the fruits of His love, joy and peace. (Galatians 5:22,23)
So when He begins to move,
I can’t help but follow. (John 10:27
He leads me away from the dark passages of sin
To be bathed in the pure light of God my Father.
We serve together like a loving husband with a willing bride.
In the richness of our union
I am not ashamed of my servant’s clothes
For they identify me as belonging to Him
And I am glorified. (Romans 8:16,17,30, Psalm 149:4)
I have eaten, and I am filled.
I am abiding and I always will.
I follow where He leads.
I am His bride.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together. - Romans 8:16,17
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. - Romans 8:30
For the LORD takes pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation. - Psalm 149:4
