Nowhere Else to Go

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life - John 6:68

Occasionally I hear about a professed Christian who leaves his faith to convert to another "religion." First of all, Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with God that is established through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus. There really is no such thing as a “Christian” converting to something else, because anyone who can leave Christ has never seen Him or known Him, or had this relationship in the first place. In other words, these people may have thought they were Christians, but they never were.
Jesus said that His sheep know His voice and no man can pluck them out of His hand.
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand” –John 10:27, 28.
Jesus’ sheep, His true followers, would rather die than be taken away from their Shepherd, because, like His original disciples, they know they have nowhere else to go.
“You have the words of eternal life.”
