God Speaks Today

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. – Exodus 3:2,4

One of the pastors I know shared the following incident with me recently. His daughter was in collage studying recreational therapy, but she was also beginning to have a desire to go into ministry. She was experiencing some conflict, so she began seeking God for direction.
One day she was reading about Moses’ encounter with God in the burning bush. The pastor’s daughter told the Lord after reading the incident in Moses’ life – “Lord, You spoke so clearly back then. I wish You would speak that clearly today.”

Right after that conversation with God she went jogging. As she rounded a corner she was amazed to see that one of her neighbor’s trees was engulfed in flames and glowing red. Apparently a transformer had shorted and caused the blaze – in God’s perfect timing.

The pastor’s daughter went into ministry and was also able to include her training in recreational therapy as part of her new work with people.

Our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever, (Hebrews 13:8) and if we seek Him, He will answer – that’s a promise!
