The First and Second Coming of Jesus
in the Old Testament

He was born in Bethlehem
(Micah 5: 2-5, Matthew 2:1, Luke 2:1-7)

Of the tribe of Judah, a descendant of Jesse and David.
(Genesis 49:10; Isaiah 11:1,10; I Chronicles 17:11-14, Psalm 89:3,4,19-29, 35-37, 132:11,12; Isaiah 9:6,7; 16:5 ; Jeremiah 23:5,6; 30:9; Ezekiel 34:20 28; Hosea 3:4,5 ; Matthew 1:1-17; Luke 1:26,27, 2:4; 3:23-38)

He entered Jerusalem on a donkey,
(Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 1: 18 -25, Luke 1:26-38)
At a time in history when transportation revolved around four legs, not wheels.

He was cut off,
(Daniel 9:26,)

Killed, for the sins of the people,
(Isaiah 53:8, Matthew 27:31-35, 50; Mark 15:13-25,37-39, Luke 23:32, 46; John 19:17, 18, 30; Acts 3:13-20, Romans 5-10; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Galatians 1:3-5; Hebrews 9:11-15, 24-28, 10:10-14; I Peter 2:24)

And Jerusalem would be destroyed in His wake,
(Daniel 9:26, Zechariah 13:7- 9; Luke 19:44)

Yet this Holy One would not see the grave’s corruption,
(Psalm 16:10, 11, Isaiah 25:8, Matthew 27:31-35, 50; 27:12, Mark 15:1-5, Luke 23:8-10, John 19:9,
I Peter 2:23)

And by the brightness of His victory He will gather the Gentiles
Who trust in His name.
(Genesis 12:2-3, Isaiah 9:1,2; 11:10; 42:1; 45:22-25 ; 49:5,6; 60:3; 65:1, Ezekiel 36:23, Acts 10:44:45, 13:44-49; Romans 1:16, 11:11-31; Galatians 3:7-14, 3:26-29; Ephesians 2:11-22)

Then this risen Son of Man, comes with Spirit clouds to the Ancient of Days
(Daniel 7:13)

Who descends at the time of the end, upon the mountain of humanity’s expectations.
When His saints shall possess the Kingdom.
(Daniel 7:22, Revelation 19:11-16)

As the feet of His Image arrive upon the Olive mount,
The earthquake of His coming splits the ground.
(Zechariah 14:4)

They will look upon this One whom they have thrust through,
And mourn as if he was their only Son.
(Zechariah 12:10)

And they will know that the name of the Ancient of Days and His Son are
One. (Zechariah 14:9, John 10:30)
