Farmers and Fishermen“The harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest. Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 9:37, 38, 4:19
I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here I am; send me (Isaiah 6:8). Arise, shine; for thy light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee (Isaiah 60:1) Rise…now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith which is in Me (Acts 26:16, 18). For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, “All power is given to Me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:18-20). “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). And as you go, preach, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:7, 8). Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19). The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18, 19). Comfort ye, comfort ye, My people, saith your God (Isaiah 40:1). Oh, Zion, that brings good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! (Isaiah 40:9). How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of those who publish peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says unto Zion, Thy God reigns! (Isaiah 52:7). Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves (Luke 10:3). Be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves, but beware of men (Matthew 10:16). Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Blessed are you when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in Heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Matthew 5:10-12). Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he does God service. And these things they will do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor Me (John 16: 1-3). Endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist (II Timothy 4:2). Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel. Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine (II Timothy 4:5). Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord (I Corinthians 15:58).
